“ We got takeout and it was pretty good, a little too much sweet and not enough spice but totally serviceable food. ”
“ Wasn't super impressed with the flavor of the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle). I ordered it hot, expecting a nice kick but it was pretty mild- not really spicy at all. The overall flavor seemed to be toned down, possibly to match the preferences of the local demographic. That said, the portion sizes were good and my husband really enjoyed the Hot Hamachi. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. If you're looking for bold, authentic Thai spice levels, ask for extra heat!! ”
“ I was not overly impressed by the sushi at this place but it was fresh tasting. The spicy tuna tasted more like onion juice than tuna and was unusually red. The eel sauce was the perfect amount and the sushi held together well and was the right size for a bite. The sushi was just a little better than getting it from the grocery store. Prices are decent, especially for lunch. I'm between 3 and 4 stars but they did remake one of the sushi plates without any fuss so customer service is more on point than other places, earning that tiny extra push to give it 4 stars. I'd try out their non-sushi options before getting the sushi again though. ”
“ Resto is in a complex so there's lots of parking. Greeted and seated right away. Wine price $$$ So we just got food which were amazing flavorful , hot and good portion. Pad Thai , amazing peanut curry ( it's like karekare), duck salad were all delish. Definitely a must if craving for Thai food. Unfortunately , none of us ordered sushi. ”
“ First time at this restaurant. Sashimi was excellent! It's been awhile since I had freshness like this....possibly Japan was the last. Highly recommend. I will return. Pretty crowded for a small place and I can see why. It was a Friday night however. ”
“ Cute little place when you get inside. Food was amazing! We got the "Crazy Roll" and egg rolls as appetizers. Egg rolls are more like small spring rolls. I got the beef salad and the dressing was awesome! Reminded me of my favorite Thai restaurant in Las Vegas. My wife got the Thai Star Fried rice, and that too was way above avg. Our server was spot on to all our needs. It was much much more than I was expecting. ”
“ I enjoy dining at this locally owned Thai fusion restaurant. The food has always been stellar and service polite, efficient, and accommodating. I have never had a bad meal here I've had fresh rolls on several occasions and they are delightful. I have also eaten a curry as well as other meals that have a rice accompaniment. Green tea is always a delightful addition to the meal. Situated in a strip of stores ("strip mall") there is ample parking. The restaurant itself isn't huge but it's a good size complete with a sushi bar and several tables. When the mood strikes for great Asian food, I will continue to patronize this lovely restaurant. *This establishment is no longer associated with Star Thai and Sushi of Siesta Key as of 2020 ”
“ I've been here multiple times and the atmosphere and staff never fail. Excellent food, and some of the best sushi around. I tried the bento box today and it was amazing. I will always return to this local gem! ”
“ This is a lovely, busy restaurant with a warm, cozy and casual vibe. You sign in on a white board outside to wait for a table. There are a few seats outside if you have to wait. Luckily for us, we were seated right away. The menu is extensive with both cooked foods including stir fry, curries, noodle soups, tempura and chef specials. And of course, a long page of sushi and sashimi. I had the mussaman curry with tofu and it was full flavored and satisfying. I wished for some green onions or cilantro on top for another layer of flavor and color. Husband had the Hot Hamachi which was super fresh and beautifully presented, see pic. He also tried the Poke Tuna bowl. Also a stunning presentation although missing sesame seeds for some crunch. Overall, a memorable eating experience. ”
